Workplace Fundraising Ideas

Selling baked goods can raise money for your business.

Workplace fundraisers can be an easy way to earn extra money for a company while bringing employees together. A fun, interactive fundraiser will make employees feel enthusiastic about raising money for the business and can help forge stronger bonds between co-workers. Whether you are trying to raise money for a coffee machine or larger office space, a fundraiser can help your company obtain its financial goals.

Bake Sale

Bake sales are a traditional fundraising idea that will engage employees and provide a sweet treat for everyone to enjoy around the office. Have several employees volunteer to make a variety of different baked goods to sell around the workplace, and then use the proceeds from the bake sale toward your company's financial goal. Brownies, cookies, tarts and small cakes are all fairly inexpensive to bake in bulk, and your workplace can make a large profit off the sales.

Sponsored Run

A sponsored run is an interactive fundraiser that will bring your staff together to raise money for the business. Host a run or walk that is open to employees as well as their family and friends, charging a "pledge" fee for participation. The pledge fees collected from the participants will raise money for the business, while the run will give employees the chance to spend time together and get in shape.

Carnival

A small carnival that is open to employees and their families can provide and evening of fun for everyone while bringing in money for the company. Have employees volunteer to work at the carnival hosting games, painting faces, awarding prizes and selling carnival foods, such as popcorn and cotton candy. You may need to seek out a corporate sponsor to donate the supplies for the event, or you may need to spend money from the business to pay for the food, games and tickets. Charge a small admission fee, and sell tickets for games and food at a price high enough to pay back the money invested for the event and to make a profit that you can reapply to the company. Put the proceeds from the carnival into a fund for the business to use.

Barbecue

A company barbecue is an easy way to raise money while letting coworkers and their families get to know one another better. Hold the barbecue at a park or pavilion, and sell hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas to raise money for the business. Purchasing these items using money from the business and selling them at a higher rate will earn enough to cover the money spent and generate profit. Families can eat and relax while becoming better acquainted.

Garage Sale

Help employees get rid of old items they do not need by hosting a company garage sale where employees donate the proceeds of their item back to the business. This will bring together the entire staff and allow them to purchase items from one another to replace items they are selling.
