The Difference Between Oakley Gascan & Gascan S

Finding the right pair of sunglasses for your face can take much trial and error. You might like one style of sunglass but find that it is not the right shape for your face. American sunglass manufacturer Oakley released the Gascan wrap-around sunglass range and an extra Gascan S range for people who found that the Gascan sunglass design did not fit their face. Does this Spark an idea?

Frame Size

The frame of the Gascan S has been reduced in size to be worn by a smaller face than the Gascan was designed for. The bridge on the Gascan S is closer to the sidearms and the height of the lens holders have been reduced.

Frame Design

While primarily the same design as the Gascan, the Gascan S does have a sleeker design with a longer sidearm. It also has no extension of the main frame down the sidearm that the Gascan has.

Lens Size

The Gascan S lenses are smaller than that of the Gascan. Lenses are available for both in Plutonite and Polarized versions.

Availability

The Gascan S has been discontinued by Oakley but is still available from a number of sunglass retailers around the world.
