Unique Party Favors For Children

Party favors are a fun part of a child's birthday party.

Party favors are small gifts given to guests at a party to thank them for coming. Party favors for children often include candy, stickers and noisemakers. Instead of going the traditional route at your child's next birthday party, you can give your guests unique party favors that are easy to make and inexpensive, too. Does this Spark an idea?

Theme

When choosing party favors, consider your party theme. Bug houses for an insect party, sunglasses and beach balls for a swimming party and a ball and water bottle for a sports party are all ideas for themed party favors.

Types

Instead of filling a bag with items that will probably end up in the trash, give the children an inexpensive gift certificate for an ice cream cone or free movie rental. A craft activity such as decorating t-shirts or painting photo frames can serve as a great party favor and help entertain the kids during the party. You can also just give each child one bigger gift, such as a ball and bat set from a dollar store or a disposable camera.

Containers

One way to make your party favors unique is to package them in special containers. Skip traditional party favor bags and use containers that the children can use again. Use plastic beach pails, small flowerpots, baskets or mini paint cans to put your party favors in.

Considerations

Consider the recipients when choosing unique party favors. Small objects such as beaded necklaces are not appropriate for very young children. If any of the children attending the party have food allergies, you may want to avoid edible favors.
