Timex Ironman 30 Lap Instructions

The Timex Ironman 30 Lap watch includes an alarm, chronograph and timekeeping functions. It features Timex's signature Indiglo system, which illuminates the face of the watch with a bright blue-green light. Water-resistant to 100 meters, the watch is designed to withstand the type of conditions found in the Ironman triathlon.

Setting the Clock

While in Time mode, hold the "Set/Recall" button until the time zone begins to flash. Use the plus and minus keys to set it to either the first or second time zone, then press "Next." The Timex Ironman 30 can be set with two time zones, allowing you to easily adjust your watch if you frequently travel to a different location. Pressing the "Start/Split" button while in Time mode lets you see the time in the other zone. Holding it down for four seconds will switch the watch over to that zone. Once the time zone is designated, you can proceed to set the hours, minutes, seconds, and date by using the plus, minus and "Next" buttons.

Using the Timer

To set the timer, press the "Mode" button until the display shows "Timer." Press the "Set/Recall" button until the hour digit starts flashing. Adjust the hour with the plus and minus keys, then press "Next" to move on to the minutes. Repeat this step to set the minutes and seconds that you wish the timer to count down. You will then have the option of having the timer repeat after it finishes counting down or having it stop. When you are satisfied with your settings, press "Done." Press the "Start/Split" button to start the timer's countdown. The timer will keep running even when you switch the watch to another mode. To stop the timer, press the "Stop/Reset" button.

Tracking Split Times

The Timex Ironman 30 Lap also has a stopwatch that can be used to keep track of split times for racing sports like running or cycling. Press the "Mode" button until the display shows "Chrono," then press and hold the "Set/Recall" button. To start the timer, press the "Start/Split" button. It will continue to run even if you exit to another mode. Pressing the "Stop/Reset" button will stop the chronograph. To record a split time, press the "Start/Split" button again while the timer is running. To see your split times, press the "Set/Recall" button while the watch is in Chrono mode. You can then scroll through the various splits with the plus and minus keys. Press "Set/Recall" again to exit display mode and return to the timer.
