The PayScale Report states that as of September, 2010, coordinators earn a base salary of $30,736 to $45,587 per year. Adding bonuses, profit sharing and commissions can produce total compensation of $29,733 to $44,676.
Experience
The greater the experience, the higher the salary, with new employees averaging a beginning annual salary of $26,259 to $37,106. At one to four years of experience, they receive $29,984 to $40,885 and at five to nine years, they earn $35,174 to $50,596. At 10 to 19 years, they earn $35,773 to $55,773 and at 20 years or more, they earn $34,008 to $60,771.
Location
Location plays a part in compensation, with New York showing the widest range and highest salary at $35,423 to $54,048, followed by Washington, D.C. at $35,997 to $49,630. In Los Angeles, events coordinators earn $35,195 to $49,750, while those in Houston earn $31,876 to $48,025.
