Pelleted Diets

Pelleted pigeon diets should make up the staple of any pigeon feeding regimen and can include any number of ingredients to make up well-balanced nutrition.

Seeds

Seeds should be supplemented into a pigeon's diet. Seeds including barley, linseed, sunflower, safflower, corn, green peas and canary seeds are all acceptable.

Vegetables

Pigeons also benefit from supplementation with fresh greens, such as endive, chickweed, watercress and spinach.

Fruits

Fruits that are beneficial for pigeons include berries, apples and pears.

Vitamin and Mineral Supplements

Vitamin and mineral supplements should be added to any diet to ensure proper nutrition. Basic supplements include calcium, grit and gravel, and commercially prepared vitamin supplements that can be added to water.
