A recreation supervisor handles a wide range of responsibilities, including personnel and facility management, following program budgets and monitoring expenditures, and being active in the community. Strong planning and organizational skills, an ability to work well with others and showing initiative to maintain or improve programs are desirable traits.

She's responsible for encouraging involvement from community members, marketing the organization's services and reaching out to potential donors or sponsors. Community-based responsibilities may also include attending meetings, designing promotional materials, publishing special reports and developing fundraising campaigns. To meet these responsibilities. she needs to develop and maintain community connections, understand basic word-processing and computer graphics programs, and feel comfortable with public speaking engagements.
