Use fabric adhesive to attach a patch to a Boy Scout uniform.
A Boy Scout patch is meant to recognize the effort a Boy Scout put into accomplishing a particular task. Although the most common way of attaching patches to a uniform is by using a thread and needle, those who are unfamiliar with sewing may find this difficult to do -- and sometimes a sewn patch will not stay secured to a uniform. The best way to attach a patch and ensure it stays on a uniform is by using fabric adhesive and an iron.
Instructions
1. Wash and dry the Boy Scout uniform before you adhere the patch.
2. Apply your fabric adhesive to the entire back surface of the patch. Consult the directions that came with your adhesive to see how long you should allow the glue to dry. You'll usually have to wait about 10 minutes.
3. Turn on your iron and allow it warm up.
4. Place the patch on the appropriate area of the Boy Scout uniform. Ensure there are no creases, dirt or other materials on the uniform underneath the patch.
5. Place your cloth over the patch and press down on it and the patch with your hot iron for a minute. Turn over the uniform and press down on the patch area for another minute.
6. Leave the uniform for an hour in a dry area to allow the adhesive to adhere to the uniform.
