The Timex Expedition Indiglo watch keeps the time and allows you to view it in dim lighting conditions with the push of a button. The Timex Expedition also features several organizational functions, such as the timer, alarm and chronograph. The Expedition also features a calendar, time zone read-out, an hourly chime and a Night-Mode feature. Before taking off to the track, you might have questions about how the Expedition works. Instructions
1. Push the "Mode" button on the lower-left edge of the watch to view a demo of the watches features. The word "Demo" appears on the screen and each mode appears for three seconds. After the date is set, Demo mode is disabled, until the battery is changed.
2. Push the "Indiglo" button on the bottom of the Expedition to illuminate the watch face. The face illuminates for three seconds. If other buttons are pressed while Indiglo is activated, the face stays illuminated for three more seconds. Push and hold the Indiglo button for four seconds to use the "Night-Mode" function. A moon icon appears on the screen. During the next eight hours, any button pushed activates the Indiglo backlight for three seconds. To deactivate Night-Mode, push and hold the Indiglo button for four seconds.
3. Hold down the "Set" button on the upper-left edge of the watch to start setting the time. The time zone field flashes. Push the "Start/Split" or "Stop/Reset " buttons on the upper-right and lower-right edge of the watch respectively to choose the first or second time zone. Push the "Next" button on the lower-left edge of the watch to highlight the hour field. Push the "Start/Split" and "Stop/Reset" buttons to set the hour and push "Next." Follow the previous pattern to set the minute, second, day of the week, month, day of the month, 12-hour or 24-hour preference, date format, and hourly chime preference. When finished, push the "Set" button again to save the settings.
4. Push the "Mode" button, until the desired alarm number appears. There are multiple alarms on the Timex Expedition. Push the "Set" button. The hour field flashes. Push the "Start/Split" or "Stop/Reset" button to increase or decrease the hour and push the "Next" button. The minute field flashes. Continue the previous pattern to set the minute, AM/PM preference and frequency. Push "Set" to save the settings. Push the "+" button to arm the alarm or the "Stop/Reset" button to disarm the alarm. Push any button to silence the alarm after it sounds.
5. Push the "Mode" button, until "Timer" appears to use the timer feature. Push the "Set" button. The hour field flashes. Follow the time-setting and alarm steps to set the timer. Push "Set" to save the settings and exit. Push the "Start/Split" button to start the timer. The timer starts and continues, until it runs out or "Stop/Reset" is pushed.
6. Push the "Mode" button, until "Chrono" appears on the screen. Hold down the "Set" button to activate the chronograph. "Format/Set" appears on the display. Push the "Start/Split" or "Stop/Reset" button to select the desired format. Push "Done" to save the setting and push "Start/Split" to start the chronograph. Push the "Stop/Reset" button to stop the chronograph or to split a lap. Hold down the "Stop/Reset" button to reset the chronograph.
